Copyright Infringement Fines Are Unconstitutional

In support of the EFF's noble stand mentioned in the previous post, I thought the supreme law of our land would be worth noting.

Amendment VIII
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Does "excessive fines" include $250,000 for copying a movie, because that's what a normal fine is for doing so.

How long would it take someone to pay that much money and still be able to take care of themselves and their family, and still have money saved for retirement so they wouldn't be a burden on the broken Social Security system?
