Achievement Race Rules

Achievement races are all about having fun and adding a touch of friendly competition to games. Achievements speak for themselves, so there are not many rules other than just play the game and have fun. However, there are a few things that are unfair to other participants and thus will disqualify you from the race.

Boosting and glitching achievements are not allowed during an achievement race. Boosting is when you enter a competitive multiplayer match where all teams cooperate to increase stats. Examples would be entering a free for all death match where everyone takes turns getting head shots for experience; someone allowing you to perform an action that would normally be challenging to do like getting so many consecutive kills; or hooking up a second, unmanned controller to help yourself get an achievement.

Boosting achievements should be distinguished from grinding achievements. Grinding is simply finding the best way to do something legitimately and doing it over and over. An example would be playing capture the flag to get experience because capture the flag results in more experience than other game types such as death matches. Boosting, on the other hand, would be playing a 1 on 1 capture the flag game where you take turns getting captures to gain experience easily.

Glitching is simply getting an achievement without actually doing the requirements of the achievement. Going from rank 1 to 100 without getting to each rank in between is glitching.

We will use the honor system on these things. The main thing is have fun and enjoy the game. If an achievement is too much for you and you want to boost it, please wait until someone else has reached 1000.
