Top 10 Xbox 360 Games

Here's my list of the top 10 Xbox 360 games to date.

  1. Grand Theft Auto IV - Best game on Xbox. Great rags to riches story. Very likable anti-hero protagonist. Everything in the game is oozing with witty political/social satire. A truly great technical achievement that deserved every perfect score the critics gave it. Throw in a very thorough and fun multiplayer and you have a game that provides hundreds of hours of gameplay.
  2. Fallout 3 - The maker of my favorite RPG franchise (Elder Scrolls) buys the license to one of my favorite game series from the 90's (Fallout) and makes a masterpiece. The game is so vast that you really do feel like a wastelander struggling to survive.
  3. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Wonderful RPG which expands the series in many ways. The lore for the Elder Scrolls universe is very extensive and well thought out, making this game have a very epic feel to it.
  4. Bioshock - A masterpiece in story telling. The set pieces are magnificent. The game is replete with symbolism and irony.
  5. Dead Rising - One of the best zombie games yet. There are some obvious flaws, but the central tenet of the game - being stuck in a mall full of zombies - more than makes up for the game's blemishes.
  6. Left 4 Dead 2 - Best cooperative game on the 360. Zombies + co-op + very intense gameplay = win.
  7. Red Faction: Guerrilla - The revival of the game series that introduced us to destructible environments. Some of my most gratifying moments in gaming took place in this game.
  8. Batman: Arkham Asylum - Best super hero game. Ever. This game is a superb mix of stealth, action, and story.
  9. Resident Evil 5 - One of my favorite game series. Add co-op, take away some of the suspense, and you still have a game worthy of top 10. Like I said, zombies + co-op = win.
  10. Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned - Not a full game per se, but the amount of content added with this DLC is about the size of an average $60 game. This is Grand Theft Auto with a biker gang story. Instant classic for me.
